Travel from home with craft beer.
TOBIRAS is an online craft beer shop now in preparation in Japan, dedicated to beers from Australia and New Zealand.
The story
TOBIRAS was founded by Akinori Nagaoka after a trip to Australia and New Zealand, where he and his wife fell in love with the incredible variety of local craft beer. Back in Japan, they found that almost none of it was available here — even online.
The name
TOBIRAS (“doors” in Japanese) is about opening a door. Every beer carries the place it comes from — its people, its landscape, its story. TOBIRAS wants to open that door for people in Japan who can’t easily travel, so they can enjoy a taste of the journey at home.
For breweries
Akinori Nagaoka is currently preparing the necessary licences to import and sell beer in Japan. If you are a brewery in Australia or New Zealand interested in reaching Japanese beer lovers, please get in touch — Akinori would love to hear from you.
